His Mission

“My mission is to bring practical, decision‑informed, honest leadership to Calgary‑Shaw by putting service before ideology, accountability before excuses, and results before political theatre. As a teacher, lifelong Calgarian, and product of Alberta’s unique story, I am running to help build a government that listens, spends responsibly, protects public trust, and works for the people it serves.”

About Kyle

Calgary raised him. Now he wants to represent it.

Kyle Joseph is a Grade 6 teacher, lifelong Calgarian, and community‑minded leader running to bring practical, honest leadership to Calgary‑Shaw. A Mount Royal University graduate and outstanding teacher award nominee, Kyle is the son of small business owners and the grandson of a true Albertan cowboy. He is a product of what makes Alberta unique: hard work, opportunity, resilience, and people from different walks of life building something together.

As a teacher, baseball coach, and local resident, Kyle is tired of ideology getting in the way of good government. He is running to bring accountability, common sense, and practical leadership back to the people of Calgary‑Shaw.

He holds a Bachelor of Education, with a minor in History, from Mount Royal University, where he graduated on the President’s Honour Roll after four years of weekly classroom placements and two full practicums. He studied the science of reading and effective literacy instruction — training he brings into his own classroom every day.

Kyle holds Alberta Teacher Certification and Red Cross First Aid certification, and was nominated for the Edwin Parr Award, Alberta’s honour for outstanding first‑year teachers.

What He’ll Fight For

Priorities for Calgary‑Shaw.

Grounded in the Progressive Tory Party’s commitment to trust, results, and practical leadership — applied to the issues Calgary‑Shaw families raise with Kyle at the door.

Strong Public Education

From someone who teaches the class

Classrooms work when teachers are supported and evidence, not politics, drives instruction.

  • Well-resourced classrooms and manageable class sizes
  • Literacy instruction grounded in the science of reading
  • Real mental-health and community supports in schools

Fiscal Responsibility

Every dollar accounted for

Government should spend carefully, report openly, and invest for the long term.

  • Balanced budgets over time
  • Transparent, public reporting on spending
  • Cutting waste and duplication across government

Stronger Communities

Systems Calgary‑Shaw can count on

Reliable health care, education, and support for families build strong neighbourhoods.

  • Accessible local health care and schools
  • Support for vulnerable Calgarians
  • Real collaboration with municipal leaders

Honest Representation

Less noise, more results

An open-door constituency office that listens first and explains its reasoning.

  • Open, accessible decision-making
  • Clear answers, not insider politics
  • Evidence-based positions on local issues
